About Me
I am a qualified counsellor/ psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means that I have signed up to their ethical framework which underpins how I practice to make sure I am working in an ethical and responsible way.

I studied at Leeds Beckett University and have a BSc (Hons) in Applied Psychology, Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Interpersonal Skills and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on different theories so I can tailor my approach to meet the needs of each individual person. This being said I am heavily influenced by the humanistic theories such as person centeredness.

I am not an advice giver and will not tell you what I think you should do. I will work with you to help you find what is best for you. I offer a safe and confidential space for you to be able to discuss whatever is troubling you. My belief is that the relationship between myself and you is central for counselling to work. Trust in the relationship is essential and I understand that I have to earn your trust and will work hard to do so.

I have experience of student counselling, that is working with degree level students and also volunteering at Leeds Mind. I have worked for a number of years for the NHS with adults with learning disabilities. I enjoy working with people, getting to know them and helping to empower them to make their own decisions.
